AAUW NEWPORT COUNTY/EAST BAY BRANCH will present a showing the movie, “The Invisible War” on Tuesday, April 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

The Invisible War is a documentary film about military sexual assault that features several AAUW legal advocacy fund- sponsored plaintiffs who share their stories about being assaulted while serving in the armed forces.

This powerful film was nominated for an Oscar in 2012 as best documentary, won an award at the Sundance Film Festival and is a New York Times Critics Pick. With military sexual assault in the news on an almost daily basis, our branch felt that this important film had an important message for women’s rights and justice, and for military readiness in general. Please join us. We will provide light refreshments, and hopefully, a short post film discussion.
